SOUNDS FROM THREE TERRITORIES IN TWO CONTINENTS

A route beginning in Granada (Spain) and ending in Dakar (Senegal) cannot have only one sound. If the route goes through different territories, the soundtrack must also reflect that diversity. That is why we wanted to mix sounds which represent each of the landscapes in the trip.

Granada is precisely one of the most active and influential spots of Spanish pop rock. Looking in that direction, we have resorted to a poet, a singer and a band which, together, have created a tune which itself reflects every reason behind the production of the documentary.
The Maghreb, an immense setting which serves as a bridge between Europe and sub-Saharan Africa, deserved the interpretation of the watchword of musical multiculturalism from desert sounds. For sure, his songs are reminiscent of the beauty and mystical images so typical of this part of the world.
Black music had to be present inevitably. And we wanted to do it individually, with personal interpretations of popular African songs but, mostly, with the participation of choirs. We are lucky to count on a choir formed by Senegalese emigrants. Besides, for this occasion, European musicians are playing with them, greatly enriching the ad hoc track created for this documentary. This shows perfectly that, when people work together, the result is much better.

Europe

The theme Invitación al viaje, specifically composed for this documentary, is the product of a collaborative effort of three highly talented creators: Ramón Repiso and his intense poetry, El Hombre Garabato and its richly textured music, and Luis Arronte and his warm voice.
